I used to search out places like that, particularly in 'tourist destination' locations such as Yellowstone, Colorado, etc. I've got some streams squirreled away in California as well. You may or may not get into 'trophy trout,' but you will find willing trout and far fewer people.

I wish I could still do it as, personally, I think the experience is superior to 'combat fishing.'

Enjoy it while you have it.

Very nice! That's what I loved about living in Idaho in the 80's.

Don't know what creek that is, but if it's on the east side I've probably fished it.

For decades, I've fished, camped, and backpacked all up and down the east side of the Sierra.I've wet a line in just about every creek, lake, and puddle I ever came across, and that includes many I've had to hike in to. That side of the Sierra is indeed a magical place.

Ever get up to Saddle Bag Lake and the Thousand Lakes Primitive Area? You can catch the grand slam of trout there, PAX
