    Turkey Tuesday

    Tuesday was opening day. Too easy - killed this one without a blind, camo, a call,or decoys. I was glassing a bunch of mule deer on a hillside, and he came wandering out of the tree line.

The one I shot had an 8" beard - there were bigger ones but they were on the edge of my range so I took the closest one. As soon as I shot him and he started flopping around, all the other toms raced over and started beating up on him.

              I thought it odd that there was still a big flock of mature toms - usually by this time they are separated out and looking to get henned up.
