Not that I've heard but it's a huge starling migration corridor and consequently they black out the sun when they pass through.

That must be why in the winter there is so little sun.

How silly! You don't bring a shotgun for salmon. you bring explosives.

Use a 7 weight fly rod with a tasty radish fly for jackrabbit and a .223 AR for salmon.....That's why the term "COMBAT FISHING" is used for the Kenai. You just need to use the proper gear for the particular location.

No replies from Pie so he's either been eaten by a bear or dropped his phone off the float plane.

I can tell you guys that for the past two weeks the Jacks in my area are paired up and bunched together right now. I saw 13 jacks in an area the size of a football field this past weekend, that's in an area with no known nearby water source. I tried to capture a shotgun hunting video this past Sunday but the jacks were getting up too far away, so next time I I’ll take the rifle too but I really want to captuer a shotgun video.

This is hard to believe. Jack rabbits are territorial and have a range of up to 2.5 square miles. If you saw more than one within a mile, I'd imagine they were fighting to the death.
