We refer to this as "Whipping out your decoy." Highly effective!

You can also hunt the afternoons and shoot cripples. Most of the times you will be the only one out there. I would walk around and jump shoot all the birds lost that morning.

I have not thought about this tactic. Seems like it would be fruitful. Almost everyone is gone by noon and I have seen birds get winged and float down into the reeds and disappear.

I have gotten more limits doing this than anything else. If you have a good dog you can do really good. Plus most of those birds are not going to survive the night.
