I pretty much only hunt in Solano County....you need to start knocking on doors and have very thick skin....many people in California think that just asking to hunt is rude......success will probably be about 1 in 100 knocks.....but honesty you don't know until you ask...and no public land that I know of. I think the southern tip of Lake Barryessa there is some public land....putah creek area...but I know the turkey hunting can be tough.

There's Putah creek south of Barryessa and Knoxville wildlife area north of Barryessa. Then there is Indian valley reservoir a little farther north.
