MLPA UPDATE = monitoring and enforcement

Well I decided to see if joe seafood lover was observing the "No take of any marine resources" inside the now near 3 year old North Central Coast study region. So I took my trusty camera up the road where I could look down on the rocks at the minus tide this AM inside a "NO TAKE ZONE" near to public access. I will not contact CalTip because #1. Jennifer Fearing is on the board and #2 this was plainly spelled out over and over to the MLPAI team by the wardens association and clear minded locals. The state does not have the resources to police this as is required under law. Instead I sent several photos to the Marine Biologist in charge of studying the intertidal zone relationships between the (cough-cough) protected areas in relation to the unprotected areas

As long as they are not killing Nemo, the BRTF doesn't care who walks on tidal spawning habitats. I wonder if these fools support Surfrider and CoastKeeper. Thanks for the pics. Not surprised at all.
