Best fishing spots within the bay area(east bay)

Hey guys, Im trying to get back into fishing. Im from stockton so I had the luxury of the SJ delta. But now I live in hayward, And am looking for the best freshwater fishing spots. The closer the better, I'd like to find a place close to here. Primarily catfish, But open to others as well. Lake chabot, Garin pond?? Also a good bait and rig would help as well. Thanks guys in advance.

I've only been to Lake Del Valle in that area. Trout, stripers, largemouth, smallouth, catfish and panfish.

Deep in a valley framed by oak-covered hills, with sailboats and sailboards skimming over its waters, Del Valle is like a lakeside resort only 10 miles south of Livermore.

The park is a beautiful water-oriented recreation area, which offers more intensive recreation such as picnicking, boating, swimming and fishing, but also has room for hiking and wildlife viewing.

I used to fish here before they made it a park.

I'm into hiking more than fishing... but I'd say I've seen more happy fishermen at Quarry Lakes than Chabot, but Chabot's prettier.

Thanks guys, I think ill have to check out quarry lake. Chabot is a no go. I always feel stupid especially after 25+ times and never even feeling a bite.

I've caught fish at chabot and del valle and quarry. So don't stop trying.

If you can't catch fish at Del Valle you're forgetting to bait your hook.
