    I like that.

      How about this:

Put up a trail camera that has a good view of your truck. Just make sure it's well camoflaged and doesn't have a flash.

BTW...be sure to write it on something that looks like it was written on the spot (an old envelope, piece of cardboard, etc. If it is one a clean white piece of paper...or worse, was printed from your computer it shows you premeditated the note and it is BS.

IMO cameras work better as a deterent to criminals who know they are on camera but you gotta get lucky to get a photo that guarantees an I.D. and then you still have to deal with the broken windows or stolen items afterwards. Deterring thieves is better I think.

Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

The U.S. city with the most restrictive gun laws in the nation, Washington, D.C., has the highest murder rate at 24 per 100,000.
The state with the most unrestrictive gun regulations, Vermont, has the lowest murder rate at 0.48 per 100,000.

sometimes the thought crosses my mind of some a-hole doing something but the likelihood is slim.

            Same here

All these posts give you the basic idea. I also live in the high desert and don't trust the "shady" people around here but because my truck has 4X4 its usually the one me and my buddies take for yote hunting. Get yourself a $15 camo backpack from Big 5 to take your valuables with you and lock the truck.......beyond that there isn't a 100% full proof plan to go with.

Was yote hunting today up here in 29 Palms with a buddy from work. we were talking about this very thing enroute to one of the areas. We dont go too far, other side if a ridge or so. Like the idea about the improvised note tha t BC9696 talked about, to a 3rd party that should be coming along, gonna do that for next time
