Tuesday Rockfish opener

We put boat in at Ventura at 1:30 pm tue and baited up. No anchovies or Sardines only squid. Nice water went to gap in 45 minutes got 1/3 of limits that afternoon then spent night at smugglers only other boat there was coast gurd. fished 1/2 day wed and filled limit. Threw back nice lings, Got mix of reds/ chuckleheads/ salmon grouper/ whitefish/ 1/2 dozen sand dabs. Flat as a pool table on return did all filleting while doing 20 knots in a 28' boat. only 1 boat one out there wed near us.
