    crow...or raven?

I'm just curious, mind you...it's not like I shot this off of my back porch this morning with my air gun or anything.

looks like a crow, to me. No curve to the bill, and tail feathers appear to be in a U as opposed to a V.

      Yeah, I'd go crow too.

For what Rusty said and it looks small in relation to the detritus in the background.

Was it about the size of a pigeon?

It was at least the size of a pigeon, and probably a bit bigger.

Cook it up, and if you feel any humility after you've taken a couple bites, then it's crow.

Did it say "nevermore" before it passed on? I think this is the only true way to tell if it was

If it took the air rifle away from you and jammed it up your butt, then its a raven. Tough birds those.

In flight, ravens can soar, but crows have to keep on flapping. Also, the crow's tail is C shaped and the raven's is wedge shaped.

A raven is twice the size of a crow and like the others have said a crow is the size of a pigeon.

Comparing the size of the beak to the birds head I'd say crow. When you look at a raven in flight it has a wedged shaped tail, and the crow has a fan shaped tail.

                              The raven is protected bird.
