      he is a beauty.

Wow, could have used him today. My german shepherd and the rented lab were not exactly a dynamic combo for pheasant whacking.

I'm researching Brittany dogs right now for a future addition to the family. If you don't mind, could you pm me some details. Or maybe post them here if you're comfortable with that. I'm in Mountain View, and there aren't many in the area. Thanks

Ringo is a French Brittany they are not as common as American Brittany,, Brittany's have a reputation as a all-a-round point, retrieve, and great family dog, they also work slower and closer. French Brittany is a little more pricy than American Brit both dogs have great qualities. The French Brit is a little smaller in size and weight. I was looking for a smaller dog I was also looking for breeders that put greater emphasis on bird hunting qualities NOT show dogs.

Check out gundogbreeders.com there is also a forum available to ask questions and a great classified section.

Airzona seems to have a few French Brit breeders with pups at this time, nothing in Cali.

Puppies for sale listings from the best gun dog breeders, trainers and kennels.

                    Hope this helps

I've hunted pheasant with Brittanies before, and they are such great dogs. Lots of energy, but of course that's what keeps them going all day in the field. But the main thing that attracted me to them was the personalities. They are just so great with kids and around the house, provided they get exercise.

Although I'd love to get a great hunting dog, I take a peek here once in a while too. Dangerous, because some are nearby...

I've spoken with owners of both French and American dogs. Most were very nice and helpful. A couple of the owners were absolute snobs, and coughed at the suggestion of finding a dog other than from a top notch (read - incredibly expensive) breeder in Idaho and Utah and back east. But then again, they were driving Range Rovers and had very expensive double guns in a parking lot filled with pickups and pump actions.

I've hunted most with GSPs, and they are great dogs, but I'd like something a bit smaller.
And a small affectionate couch sharing dog will be easier to get past the wife...

Do French Brittany's run away when the shooting starts?

Adorable pup. Between your pics and PC's, the wife wants a bird dog now. God Bless You Guys!
