Planning a trip to the Delta

I'm a Southern california native and I'm planning a trip up the Sacramento delta in April. I've never been and I'm looking for any tips or tricks and area info. And any recommendations on a campground, I hear its pretty ghetto in some spots.

I'm going to be shore fishing and hopefully get some stripers for the cooler. I figure we can start in the Antioch area and move based on fish presence. Can anyone help out.

Yeah, I've seen that page and most others from a search engine. I'm looking for any first hand knowledge of the area.

The KOA Campground at Tower Park is a pretty nice place. There are a few palces along Hwy 12 that are nice.

Depends on the tides and how far inland you are.

Here is another nice palce that is before Tower Park

There is a spring run for stripers. Usually a really good trolling bite.

But, the fall bite is the best. November December for me.

Tower park sucks for what you are looking for there is no bank fishing around, check out Brannan island state park you can bank fish out of the park or just outside it on the levee.

Have fished the delta for 35 years PM me what exact info you want and I will set you up.

Brannan Island State park, nice place, safe, good fishing. Viera's resort is nice, upriver Verona is nice. Levee's are full of problems.

Brannan Island that is the one I was trying to think of It is on Hwy 160 just on the other side of the Antioch bridge. Lots of snags on the rivers side though with fishing so bring lots of spare gear.
