Enter the "Way Back Machine" and go back to when San Bernardino Co had a regional park along the Santa Ana river at Hamner Ave. We used to park at the park and carry our shot guns, concealed of course, across the park onto farm land and go duck and goose hunting. Jump shooting. Ocassionally a farm hand in a truck or tractor would gives us a wave and we would hear shooting from the South side of the river where a hunt club was at that time. Always went home with ducks, pheasant and rabbit. Never scored on the geese, but not from lack of trying.

$200, if you hunt often enough, is about the same annual cost as a WU membership but with out the plentiful options.

san j and wister are only 20 bucks to get on . if you look at the reports its ok with a bird avg. of 2-3 per hunter and the refuges have 1-2 bird avg. for 200 dollers it doesnt sound like a good deal. i shoot 2-limits of birds each time i go out to the refuges but you need to watch weather and get a ressie for a good spot

        thanks to spectr 17 for this:LOOK , ( i shot a wood duck at wister !!!!!)

the site says they provide the decoys , thats a good thing if you dont have any but im sure you can take the money you can save by going to a refuge and buy some
