The key is the AMAX bullet - unlike SMKs which pass right on through AMAXs tend to be a little explosive . . . . red mist and body parts
I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.

As I've gotten older I thought I was gaining patience, then I realized I simply don't give a crap.

smk's are not known for consistent expansion, fwiw. strictly built for accuracy. sometimes they will come right apart and destroy, but sometimes they just pass right on through. i think sierra tries to discourage match kings in the big game world in their literature, because of this inconsistent performance. still, it should kill squirrels no problem, but you wont get an air show consistently.

wish i was out doing pest control...

My 17HMR with a 17 gr poly tip V-Max does the same damage if not worse out to about 150 yards. Beyond that and I have a hard time getting my dope right.

If you want carnage use a Vmax or ballistic tip bullet.I like the Vmax it will also drop coyotes and not pass threw drops all it's energy in side target.Vmax bullet will fragment.

I decaped this squirrel with a vmax from a 223.

Nice racks are much better. You can grab both sides of the rack to help stabilize while mounting.

They reproduce at a rapid rate, so if there is a temporary surge in food for the critters, you can find yourself up to your chin in them. Maybe there was more rain this year than usual which means more seeds and acorns for the little buggers to munch. Good luck eradicating them, they can descimate an orchard in a matter of days.

                    So...

do you eat what you shoot?

Sometimes the law defends plunder and participates in it. Sometimes the law places the whole apparatus of judges, police, prisons and gendarmes at the service of the plunderers, and treats the victim -- when he defends himself -- as a criminal. Bastiat

Gross! I feed what I shoot to the local coyotes then shoot them and feed them to everything else, see at the end it all works out! NO waste!

If you want to have some fun with ground squirrels, don't ever go down range and pick up or look at the squirrels you have killed. If you let them lay others will come out to prey on the dead carcass. Dead ground squirrels attract other ground squirrels.

I have had as many as 15 of them laying on top of each other dead. That's no BS!
