we got a black hawg down

we got a black hawg down, we got a black hawg down.
this was a nice little 40 yard shot through a brush window on the east side of the nub for those of you who know what i'm talking about.
saw probably 30 hogs that eve. (mostly sows & piglets) before this one froze 2 seconds too long before following it's instinct to bolt.
other pic is of an elk heard driving through the clarizo plain on my way out.
straight shots,
jeff
p.s.
well i'm trying tom post a couple pics but all i'm finding is a bunch of smiley faces & such. i give up at this point. if some one wants to educate me how to put up pics i will do it otherwise ???

Nice racks are much better. You can grab both sides of the rack to help stabilize while mounting.

That reference was for those few of us here who know where the nub is in relation to the house field, or the wallows. It is a landmark at his family's ranch. I'll be setting up on the other side of it on the 3rd. I've seen the pics already, and he's a beauty. Congratulations, Jeff!

ps: the attachments below are the photos Jabell is talking about.

Wow. Are those pics of kommifornian elks in the distance. If it is i think its time to spread out the herd to the sierra mtn zones and put out more tags

Jabell: where's all the skinnies at? I see the blk hawg down but normally skinnies would be all over it by now;p

thanks guys for the congrats & help with pics.

they are thick right now up there & constantly on the move rummaging around for acorns. i set up a trail cam that will marinate till the next trip near the wallows so hopefully it will capture some good shots.

the elk heard i see pretty regularly right where the 46 & the 41 ( i think i got the #s right) converge. there is also an antelope herd around there. it's called the clarizo plain herd i believe. i think they draw a few tags for the lopes but i've never heard of anyone being able to go after the elk. it would be like shooting fish in a barrel though because they are totally habitualized to humans.
