I'm getting different answers from different people, but I was told that you can conceal a fixed blade while hunting with a hunting license. Scenario is I'll be wearing a jacket during the winter while hunting and at least 2/3 of my fixed blade knife holster/sheath will be covered from my belt waist down. Am I good to go? Thx.

Knife law question while hunting.

Hmm I've never heard that one, though I won't swear it's false.
Folks post up the knife law from time to time when the subject comes up and I can't remember ever reading a hunting exemption.Comment

I've never even thought about this when i've carried a fixed blade on my belt when hunting big game. Considering I have a bang stick in my hand the knife seems inconsequential and of little importance. Hopefully there isn't some stupid law saying otherwise.Originally posted by jmonte35Disagree. Been trying to teach lewdogg21 how to hunt. It's like trying to teach Steve Wonder how to see. Not sure we're ever going to get there.Comment

Seems odd that it would be a problem when you can ccw without a ccw when engaged in hunting. I carry a sideram when hunting and when it is cold I will cover it with a jacket. Although I have never been stopped and hassled about it it would seem that a knife should be under the same category. Like the above poster said call the DFG and ask for sure.
If they tellou it is legal I would ask for a refernce to the code so that you can print it out and carry it with you just in case you are stopedby LEO while hunting and are hassled about it!"Life Is Hard. It's Harder When You're Stupid"-John Wayne!

I'm sure they'll say the same thing about knives.
