    Deeks decoys

I scored a dozen Deeks duck decoys at the San Jacinto water fowl clinic on Saturday. Has anyone had experience with them? The instructor says he uses the Coot / Mud Hen version and discribes them as "comfort decoys" as Mallards and others consider them to be safe company, so to speak.

Edit: This is what you won I think

Just don't shoot cripples on the water when they swim amongst your decoys :P

Are you asking if we have experience with decoys? I have put out Coot decoys before as a confidence decoy. In theory they could help. In general we have a nice mix of mallard, sprig (get the white chested bulls on the outside of your spread as white shows up from a long way out), gadwall, widgeon, and teal.

I GREW UP USING THEM THEY ARE EASY TO CARRY AND HAVE WORKED WELL FOR US. I STILL HAVE 2 DOZEN . MAKE SURE AT END OF USE TO PULL THE RINGS AND DRY THEM OUT AND BABY POWDER THEM. I USE A FORE AND AFT NEWSPAPER BAG AND CAN CARRY 6 DOZEN WITH NO PROBLEM. SLIDE YOUR SHOTGUN THROUGH FRONT STRAPS AND REST ELBOWS ON IT AND IT IS A PLEASANT WALK TO BLIND. ALL THE WEIGHT IS EVENLY DISRIBUTED ON YOUR SHOULDERS.
