Kayak fishing in the South Bay Area

I moved to California coming on five years now and I haven't fished since I moved here. I sold my bass boat before moving here but I have a little 10 ft fishing Kayak and I plan to finally do some fishing this year. I drive all the time down 17 and always pass Lexington Reservior and been thinking of putting in there. Also maybe Calero County Park or Stevens Creek Park.

I didn't know if anyone on here fishes these bodies of water or any others I should look into within like 45 min of the San Jose/Campbell area. I used to fish and hunt all the time and miss it and now the wife is working till 9pm I got some free time during the weekdays to do some afternoon and evening fishing.

we got a big stinky Zebra Muscle restriction regime on all reservoirs in at least Bay Area, and smaller ones like Guadalupe are "no boats allowed" now. Others you gotta pay $6 IIRC to have boat inspected and boat must be bone dry.https://www.ebparks.org/sites/defaul...ishAndGame.pdf

Bit out of your range but....

I don't fish, just like to paddle around.

Palo Alto launch is OK for shallow Bay waters (don't get caught on mud flats in low tide) and free as is one a bit North in RWC.

Antioch has nice new soft pillow special kayak launcher, but the river is most a bit choppy for my tastes due to high winds. Big Break a bit East on 4 has nicer water but its 1/4 mile from parking to water.

If you want to eat what you catch get to salt water . Half moon bay , capitola , moss landing are all good spots to start. If you want to get rangey Napa River , Marin keys, Suisun are all cool . I'd stay out of Alviso, it's loaded with homeless chit .... literally
