    2023 Wyoming hunt results

Hey guys I just wanted to brag a little and show my sons first buck. He turned 12 in sept of last year so he was able to go hunt with us this last season in Wyoming. Im super proud of him, He dropped it with my savage 110 ultralight in 300wsm. Now I just need to work with him on shot placement a little but for his first time seeing a buck through the crosshairs I?m sure he was jumpy as we all get from time to time. I on the other hand didnt fare as well, missed a big 3X3 by 6 or so inches at 1260yds and ended up tagging a white tail as well. Pretty happy and we will see what we can draw this year. It was a public land hunt with my brother, dad and son. My brother and dad both shot nice 4X4 mule deer as well but this buck was the most exciting part of the trip for all of us.

Hey, for a first buck that is a dang nice whitetail....especially for Wyoming!
I am jealous. My son is 10 and so far shows little interest in hunting, despite living in Wyoming and watching his dad spend a quarter of the year chasing deer, elk and pronghorn.

Keep taking your kid out. Next step is to get him into bowhunting whitetails.....it's my favorite, super addictive. I like it better than elk hunting.

      Good job dad

He just got his first bow last year. My whole family shoots including my 8yo daughter. It?s definitely in the back of my mind.

Nice deer ! Good on your son . Glad your keeping American traditions alive and teaching children hunting and outdoor skills. It’s great to see when it feels like the majority of the new generation don’t have family /father leadership growing up and or just don’t care about multifaceted skill sets like this. You are someone that makes this country great.

Thank you for the kind words, it?s a family tradition that I pray goes on long after I?m gone. I take both of my kids out with me. My 8yo daughter went bow hunting with me this year in D6 and we had a buck come within 60yds of us and started stomping and snorting. You should have seen her face, I heard about it for months and I?m sure she is hooked now as well. In the next 5-6 years I?m hoping I?ll be posting pics of all 4 of us tagging out including my wife.
