Wifezilla got her first deer (daughter got one also)

She shot a 2.5 year old, 8 point. Of course it ran 250 yards into thick woods with the lung shot and I had to search for about 3 hours to find it. Then I had to gut it and drag it 200 yards over fallen logs and dense brush. Then loaded it on the side by side and took it to the barn for skinning (again me). Since it was in the 60's today I took it straight to the processor instead of letting it hang for a few days. Last year the highs were in the 40's during the season.

I just checked my cameras and got a shot of her deer a minute before she shot it and then it running out of the other end of the pasture after being shot. You can just see some blood on the inside of the left leg.

I also found another photo of a second bigger buck watching her shoot the other buck. You can see the time stamp showing one minute after the 8 pointer entered the pasture.

My daughter got this bigger 8 pointer this morning. I got to watch the shot from my living room window. (I also got to field dress it, skin it and take it to the processor.)

Nice. Surprised you ain't learning them the game care aspect. Kinda part and parcel of killing. At least field dress so they have a chance of obtaining good meat once you're no longer able, she moves, etc.
