    What's in your Decoy Spread?

Just wanted to get some waterfowling topics going. Show off your spread!

    9 Greenhead Gear Widgeons
    9 Greenhead Gear Oversized Shovelers
    9 Greenhead Gear Mallards
    9 Greenhead Gear Greenwing Teal
    6 Greenhead Gear Gadwall
    2 G&H Pintail Drakes
    1 White Egret Confidence Decoy
    1 Baby Mojo Motion Decoy
    3 Expedite Shakers
    1 Expedite Air Lucky Duck
48 Deeks inflatable decoys I got on sale

This gives me a spread of nearly 100 decoys which is about what you need to compete on some of the larger refuges. It's a pain in the butt to cart it out there ! Once I get there though the bags float and I use a sled to get it all out into the pond.

I have also just used a dozen inflatables for longer walks to potholes and on occaision a few Greenhead Gear Wood Ducks when hunting flooded timber. Hunting flooded timber is cool... there's way more spots to hide and you don't need a pack-in blind, etc.

    What are you guys using?

Early in the year a large spread is the way to go, but this time of year my spread goes down to about 5 mag mallard decoys. The only time it gets larger is if I am hunting open water. Some times not even then. The later into the season you get you need to adjust your rig to thousands or to very small numbers to get the ducks to consistantly work your decoys.

6 pintails + 6 mallards. All 3-dimensional fold-up decoys, they fit in a small box. They do a great job and I never felt the birds need more of them to come within shotgun range.
