    Looks like fun.

My only fishing in the Channels was spear fishing while Diving 20ish years ago. Last trip was on the Conception, the one that burned up a couple years ago. Was on that boat a few times, as well as their other two boats.

Was surprised the first time I dinged a Sheephead in the head and the spear bounced off...

There are no bad days of fishing - unless the boat sinks. Wait this is CG so boating accidents can serve a purpose : )

Bad days on the golf course though - those I've had a few lately.

Good times! Reminds me of the overnighters I've done on the Mirage. Never caught much except a bunch of rockfish. Those halibuts will bite your ankle. Our deckhand would take a baseball bat to them.

Had the skiff out yesterday out of San Pedro. 3 Skulpin, 3 keeper sized sandbass( all released) one nice 30” barracuda. Gutted and iced quick, made a great dinner. There were a few schools of them pushing up bait around the horseshoe kelp. Looks like they’ll be around awhile. Yellows should be showing up any day.

                    Pyrsomes.

Tropical, tube-shaped animals called pyrosomes, known as "fire bodies," appear by the millions off the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. No one knows why.

From my phone, u can hold ur finger on the image and a window pops up and you can select "search image with Google lens" crop to specific part of image and it does a search based on that.....pretty useful!!
