DWP owns 300,000 acres in the Eastern Sierra.

    Wow,

I was looking up some info on Rick Caruso, and purely by accident found out that the DWP owns 300,000 acres in the Eastern Sierra. I know the history, with Mulholland, and the water wars, but 300,000 acres! I asked them (DWP) if there is a map available. A2

There are signs for miles along the Owens River saying that it belongs to them

Just like San Fran owning alameda creek watershed and Ebmud owning most of the Oakland hills . NGOs and the privileges they get are criminal and should be illegal .

Just remember that them owning it is what has kept it from being developed and becoming inacessable to the public.

Maybe just a detail but water agencies are government entities, so by definition they aren't NGOs. The Red Cross is an NGO. Doctors Without Borders is an NGO. Foundations set up by certain wealthy people are NGOs.

The Feds own a bunch of military bases where access, when it is allowed, is highly restrictive. Maybe that's what you're talking about. When I was a kid, civilians could take a bus to Patrick Air Force Base, which is for the Air Force's Eastern Test Range, to go fishing. Last time I was there for a wedding, getting in just about required a background check and strip search.

Ebmud is an NGO as is EBRP both are chit bag crooks. The city and co of sf and ca dept of flood control are .gov and chit bags as well. Access to publicly owned or procured with public $ land should be restricted in extreme cases only (military , disaster, etc ) to restrict any acces and arbitrary ( leftist) decisions on land use should be barred by law

I do not think NGO means what you think it means. Neither is an NGO. EBMUD is a public utility and EBRPD is a public parks special district (governmental agency).

Hey, at least EBMUD hasn't shuttered Camanche Hills yet.

Yeah, stealing the water for the Los Angeles basin is what kept the Owens valley from looking like L.A.
