                    There is a reason that a couple of state record rainbows have been caught
                    from lake Natoma.

                    The discharge from Folsom dam is on prison property and can't be fished
                    by the public.

                    Those big old slugs sit there slurping up smelt spit out by the dam until
                    their fins are worn down and they are too big to buck the current,
                    then they slip back into lake Natoma.

                    If those same fish were found "below" Nimbus dam on lake Natoma they
                    would not even be eligible as a record rainbow because they would be
                    classified as steelhead.

                    As is the fish in this article.

                    There are plenty of guides that specialize in the fishery below Oroville that
                    typically drift flies below bobbers and catch some huge bows.
                    (it doesn't need to be a swimbait)

                    If you want some, git some......not for me though.
