Switched gears - ducks to quail

Got up early yesterday and went duck hunting with a friend. Sunrise came and went, no ducks. By 10am we tired of staring at an empty sky, so we gave up and went quail hunting. We did just a little bit better there.

I'd trade you venison for pig, but we're not close enough. That's the one thing I miss about living in CA, pig hunting.

Technically, we both got limits. But my number 10 was blown in half because it was a little too close when I pulled the trigger :-)

I count 19 quail, am I correct? I don't think I ever got that many. My quail hunting days were in Arizona, and 19 quail = a lot of miles. Fun times.

Correct. #20 got blown apart because I was too quick on the trigger. It was literally the best quail hunt I've had in at least a decade, and my first quail hunt in Idaho. We literally stepped into a big covey, and chased them till we ran out of ammo.
