Where to hunt pigs for free near Sacramento?

Just finished hunters education, and I want to shoot a pig with my ar10 .308. Where can I hunt them near Sacramento? Not wanting to pay for guides.

No one will give up their spot. Try blm land. Spence wildlife, clear creek management and there is no such thing as helping a farmer/ rancher get rid of hogs in Ca. Some one years ago got advice from their brothers hairdressers illegitimate cousin about that wives tail. (LOL)

The most likely place for you to have success is at Fort Hunter Liggett. Training Area 51 is the best place for hunting them that I know of.

If hunting on public land you should just leave your rifle/pistol/bow at home. The success rate will be the same for you hike and then you do not need to carry the extra weight around all day
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

I've lived in this area all my life. I've never seen one or heard of there being any wild pigs in Sacramento area. Maybe they are out there. Good luck OP. Try Google to find the regions where feral hogs are found.

                            Pigs, no. Squirrels, yes.

I've never seen a pig or a sign of one up here, but the damned squirrels are digging holes everywhere. Might be time for a pellet gun.
