So the dude who has to be more aware of his scent and wind direction, careful of each and every step for twigs, has to virtually disappear in the bush, has to get to almost petting zoo distance from the animal, who must continually practice daily not just a quick bow sight in...is not a better hunter than a dude who puts a laser on his game, dials his sights, and puts an arrow in it from the same distances that most gun kills average?

Does someone need a participation trophy?

Do what's legal and makes you happy, but don't try to say an apple is an orange because it makes you feel better.

I may disagree with some hunting practices, but truth be told I'm glad they are available. It gets people out, it continues sport, and most of all it helps that small percentage of complete retards who never practice to ethically take animal instead of wounding and suffering.

Always discharge your ML at the end of the hunt. Fresh & dry is very important.

Bow on boars no problem....now dogs on boars that's a different story!
One life so don't blow it......Always die with your boots on!

A rifle is a more effective and cleaner killing method. There’s a reason the military doesn’t have archers anymore. Sort of kidding but I decided to simply rifle hunt after trying both. Every archer will tell you they’ve wounded deer. You really have to practice hard and set your limits and stick to them with a bow. You have more leeway making a marginal with a rifle than bow. Finding the right deer is always a challenge on public and even most private land, even with a rifle.

i take some dumbbells out with me and do curls while waiting for game.
this gets my heart rate up and my arms pumped, adding to the challenge.

Wow! You read a lot into my statement. I simply said I don't like people with elitist attitudes. I say anything about the difficulty of archery versus rifle hunting, etc.

But since you brought it up, simply taking up archery hunting does not make you a skilled hunter. I know plenty of archery hunters who find a trail, set up a tree stand and sit there all day waiting for something to walk by. They use laser rangefinders to judge their distances.

Skill comes from experience gained primarily from time in the field. Stalking game is one skill which is critical to being successful, especially as an archer. However, there are many other skills involved in hunting which are critical to one's success, regardless of weapon choice.

As I said before, different strokes for different folks. Enjoy the outdoors in whatever legal manner you like and let other do the same.
