Ok, so I am not a total noob to hunting, I hunt often up with my dad that lives in Northern Nevada. Up there it's just easier & less restrictive to hunt, so I always have just gone up there when I have the itch.
Anyhow I live in the Eastern I.E. near Redlands/Beaumont areas and want to Coyote hunt. I've honestly never hunted in CA before so I am having a hard time wrapping my head around it all. I understand that for Coyote's I do need a CA hunting license & there is no season, tags, bag limit, the rest I am lost on. I would like to hunt the area just east of the Morongo reservation, basically the area just north of the 10fwy along the 62fwy going towards Yucca Valley. East of Landers is okay too, but just farther to drive. I see there is a good amount of BLM land along there, am I legal to hunt there?
Also, I think I get confused because I found a PDF online of the "San Bernardino County shooting & hunting areas" and it seems to overlap a lot of the BLM. Also on the San Bernardino county map it says shotgun firing only in that area, does that apply if you have a valid hunting license in those areas? My shotgun is currently setup with a long barrel for bird hunting, and really my only interest is rifle hunting for coyote's...
Sorry for all the crazy confusion here, just trying to wrap my head around everything so I can go hunt & not get a ticket/land in jail. Basically, I want to hunt Coyote's with a rifle around Yucca Valley...can I and how do I go about doing it?
Thanks!!!
