    Going to pick-up coyote hunting.

    Folks,

I have decided to start coyote hunting again. I just purchased a Lucky Dog Rebel, they seem to have a good rep. Any thoughts? A2

I think he's refering to the Lucky Duck Rebel E-Caller.

Yes take it out and try it, set the caller upwind, and you setup so that the wind is blowing from your R to L or vise versa, in other words catch the coyote approaching the sound coming from upwind (circling to the downwind side), or coming in from
a downwind angle, but lesser a straight approach because the coyote will smell you. Sit low and resist raising to take a peek, be still, be at the ready, move slow and rhythmically, remember before taking the shot, make a bark or make kiss sound to stop the coyote.

From my experiences, don’t call at or close to full volume. Adjust the volume to a realistic level. Also, dying rabbit was always the best call setting for me.

Make sure you have a good back drop so you don’t make yourself a silhouette.

Get a mojo critter to keep them focused on the call instead of you. Cheap addition to a caller.

Where do you plan on hunting? Camp Pendleton? I am assuming you live in So Cal.
