    Cellular Trail Cameras and Hunting

Is it legal to respond to a real-time cellular image message that for example showing that a legal buck that your after is hanging out in front of your close by camera. I don't believe this technology has been addressed. What do you think?

It doesn't fit the definition for computer assisted hunting, to be considered that the firearm or other method of take has to be activated remotely.

That seems crystal clear to me by the principals of fair chase. No bueno.

      Legally I couldn't say.

look towards using a drone to scout for game. Same principal, so legality should be same.

I think that was downgraded. Certain sizes might need to be, but the $100-1500 stuff including the common dji ones aren’t regulated. I’m not too familiar with them though.

And I agree. It takes away from the hunting aspect. But this is brought up a lot, “if it’s legal to do so who am I to knock it?”

I think it wouldn't be useful as far as numbers on coyotes, they don't linger long enough for the hunter to react to a message. I have a different opinion for deer or other game animal that travel slowly.

This is a technology that will be addressed soon enough, it's just a matter of time.
