Depends on your gun, but check out this link for help in choosing one for you.

Hevi-Metal has both steel and hevi-shot layered in it. I would recommend a full choke. Going with a tighter extra full (turkey) choke is generally not recommended for steel.

Since you are stuck with non lead hevi shot or bismuth good choices.

Buy the choke that the same manufacturer makes for it. That's what I did after the stupid lead ban occurred.

Was it full, or extra full turkey? I was using a mod last year and missed a couple of birds. All my Beretta chokes say PB on them, I assume that means lead only

These. Previously I used a jelly head turkey choke for about 6-8 years prior to now.

Had 17 turkeys in front of my house. Largest one had a 9 inch beard. I’ll wait for 11” or better. For now

Can’t wait. I’ve been scouting some turkeys with beards close to the ground.

Took my kid out on Saturday & Sunday. The weather (cold & rainy) seemed to shut them down. We did not see or hear any birds, until later in the day while driving home.

The funny part is my biggest bird to date is 10-1/4". When I pulled the trigger I was guessing like 8 or 9 as he didn't look huge. Then I see birds walking around where it's dragging on the ground and it makes me wonder are these things like 15"? Is there a mandingo strain of birds? It makes one wonder.

What size beard is considered a trophy in CA?
