    No luck in the Ortegas

Took my son out to Ortega's South of main road to an area we had tried before for Coyote last year. Went last Friday. Got there just as sun started coming out. Was COLD!
Did not see a single dog. Used a caller and everything. we ended up hikng it down to the ravine that was covered in trees. pretty wild area and we made a stand there and did more calling. Saw a Bobcat was all.
Hoping to go out again next saturday for his Birthday.
rather find a desert area like Apple Valley or SD.
    Any suggestions let me know.

Starts with "Took my son out...."

    Thats a win

Hope you have better luck finding your quarry next time. Good for you on going hunting with your son. I am lucky enough to do the same with my son, and am also introducing some grandchildren to the concept.

That's because all the coyotes in that region are behind my house making my dogs bark.

Thanks jhillas. Got him some good experience. Made him notice markets and then made him lead me out. Guess we made it.
        Barbarosa- good one.

That's funny. I thought they were all in Coto eating people's cats and small dogs.
