    Hunting off Hwy 38

Im planning to hunt off hwy 38 this weekend. I have a bobcat tag I would love to punch before season ends. I know this will be a challenge but if I dont get a bob, a yote will do. I have a foxpro caller and i'll either bring a .22 or .223. Since the area is relatively remote I have high hopes of calling something in. New to the particular spot but hopefully it has a good combination of resources for local animals. When calling I know to keep an eye out on the fringes of thick cover when bobs are trying to locate the sounds.

What are your experiences around hwy 38 this time of year? Any bobcat success stories in LANF or SBNF?

I was planning on going solo but If anyone is interested I'm heading out Sunday feb 25 early morning and will only be out for a few hours. If you have a decoy that would be excellent. I live in Long Beach and probably will be back around 2 at the latest. PM me if your interested.

I see Bob's in that area all the time so hunting should be good.

Just be careful you don't call in a mountain lion. We have those too.

Good luck! Definitely go with the .223. It will give you more range and more punch.

Shotgun Only, check the SBC Shooting map, that area is worked hard, you will need more luck than most have.

Thanks for the info. I have looked at the shooting map and found an area appropriate for rifle

If you do call in a lion, let her rip!
