Do anyone agreed that once a season the Development should go ahead and do a switch from Buck to a Doe or every 2 years. They all should their isn't as much Does than Buck but from everyone stand point it seems that a lot of hunter come across the Doe more than the buck. But Yes I understand why they call it Hunting for a reason but. I believed that they should let these younger buck or 2 pointer have a chance to grow before being taken. If you're not about the antler but for the meat than it's good to go. However it's a American spot where these games are taken for spot not for food. But quite often some doesn't know how to cook and prep due to these gaming animals are a bit different. Anyhow with all these laws applying very soon more Hunter's are becoming less hunter and new hunter will miss out that fact that some these laws are to pathetically retarded. Just like some of us say it'll be for a Rich man games unless you're in a free State that doesn't require to much issues of laws and etc.

I prefer buck hunts only. 1 buck gets many does pregnant per season.
If you elimintate one doe, you lose her entire possible 14 fawns in her life if like many does do, has twins -
I think they should allow doe ticket drawings every year. Maybe allow 100 does to be taken per region.
Some states have, or use to have, no limits on the sex or number of deer harvested. I think the only limit was 1 per day during the hunting season. Those states probably don't have snow.
I see a lot more does than legal bucks. It is about 40 to 1. I have seen a few bucks with nubs, but I just consider them the same as does.
The hard part would be putting a limit on the age of the does. Shooting a very old doe would be preferable to shooting a younger doe.

In my spot I've seen all season a 5 does to 1 buck ratio. But I do agree shooting Young bucks at 2-3 hurts and I'm guilty of that this year so I didn't push hard on my second tag. It was more helping others get the BG feverOne life so don't blow it......Always die with your boots on!Comment

Tell me Op , do you see deer everyday or multiple times per day, do you dodge them on roads a swear at them ?...likely not in CA, Georgia yes, Cali NO, this is why hunting them (does) it not a sound idea here.Comment

Lol - in Oklahoma it's two doe and one buck during modern gun and two antlerless during Christmas. Then there's the archery and primitive gun seasons.

Every state Ive hunted has a doe/buck tag.
And not one of them has been as pathetic as this state when it comes to deer.
Ive tagged out some amazing bucks in the last 6 years but compared to other states it just isn't the same.
I would suggest a doe OR buck tag and move the season back to the rut like many other states.
It would possibly pay off since many people I ran into out there dont like to hike in snow or bad weather.
Not even mentioning that many of the doe's I saw on game cameras or from tree stands looked unhealthy. In reality so did the bucks. A lot of tumors and growths.
Has there been one damn thing that California government hasn't mismanaged?
