I don't see a lion anywhere in that list so are those okay to buy? Again I want to get things straight this is just for a Halloween party I myself do not hunt or kill animals

Buying Taxidermy/pelts for a costume in CA

A taxidermist can sell a mount, but only for cost of materials. This is to help recuperate cost if someone doesn't pay or pickup. No profit and they need proof of materials purchased.

PITA. Most won't do it due to the paperwork, so the mounts are donated and written off as advertising cost.

Or at least that's how the warden explained it to me.

In reading the language of the law it looks to me that there are more laws against a seller than a buyer

I really don't understand what the big deal is it's just for a Halloween costume at least for the game warden people. If this is going to get too complicated I probably won't even buy just so I don't risk anything or anybody

Fish & Game code precludes sale of any game animals that is indigenous to ca.
