Just booked my tickets to Alaska for next year...

Coach was $500, first class was over a $1000 on Alaska Airlines, but I use points.

Coach was 30,000 points, first class was 25,000 points. That's right, less points to fly first class?

    Guess which one I booked?

Silvers on the Nushagak in August !!

Maybe they gave you a discount because you already bought your tickets 10 days ago for this trip?

Back in the 80's I did some backpacking and fishing in Alaska. What a great time it was!

I may go the self guided on island trip next year. All meals furnished with lodge and boat. Use their gear or bring your own. Same catch as residents. No limits like charter fishing non resident have to follow.. Island Point Lodge 7 days with 5 1/2 days self guided fishing or you can fish semi guided a day or 2 to learn local spots. Anyone interested contact me I would like to put a trip together with 4-6 people. I am also an Alaskan Airlines shipper so I can ship fish and gear back much cheaper than lodge.

You should think about setting up Alaska airline air freight account. The lodge or local processors get a lot to ship. I ship for 60-70% of that amount. You have to have an account to ship airfreight also do not buy boxes from lodge get from processor. $20-25 bucks at lodge 10 bucks at processors.

Thanks, but saving 15 bucks is the least of my worries. The lodge will vac pack them, freeze them, then pack them.

All I have to do is pick them up in the Orange County airport

Lot more than that per box but suit yourself. They will vac pak and fill your boxes and you can ship at airport yourself at same time as checking in. Is your lodge remote?
