    Wyoming friendly reminder

Just a friendly reminder that Wyoming deer/antelope applications are due by May 31st. Yes, it's a couple months away, but as life works out it'll pass before you know it.
For the newbie hunters, this is a great experience for meat hunting. You can purchase doe/fawn tags inexpensively and gain hunting/field dressing experience.
It also gives much needed social experience with landowners on gaining trespassing rights. To do this call up the local chamber of commerce and ask for the list of landowners that allow hunting. Then it's just a matter of calling up these landowners and having a polite conversation. See if they'll allow more than one guy, it's better to hunt with a buddy.Be truthful of your skill level and ask about their policies/proceedures on post harvesting. Can you dress your kill right there and leave the guy pile or do they want you to take it to a special spot.
Also remember your representing hunters from the same state as you, so be honest and own up any to mistakes you make.make sure of your target and what's behind. This is the main reason why so many prime hunting locations become posted "NO HUNTING".
We'll just give them the 'ol number 6.

Hey DS can you give a quick run down of their point system and fees? I've only done over counter there. I'd like to start building points. I'm excited to finally pull the trigger on my colorado points. I think I'm up to 5 elk and 5 deer now.

I pretty much doe/fawn hunt Wyoming because it is so affordable, but it put in for doe/fawn in the draw system only to guarantee a tag as rages say 1500, but in reality that's for a region and the tags can dry up for your unit you want to hunt.
I should put in for buck sometime, but I get just as much of a kick out doe. Sometimes it's harder to hunt doe as it's easier to get busted by the many alert eye, ears, and noses.

Their website is actually geard towards the sportsman (go figure) and has all of the nuances you need in your hunting field. Plus, if you can't find your answer a quick phone call is answered by a knowledgable professional that will encourage you to come out and use what they have to offer.
Oh, BTW deer/antelope doe/fawn tags are $48each, this includes the $14 sportsmans fee and.... This tag IS your hunting license.
We'll just give them the 'ol number 6.

Quite possible. Look to see how many tags were issued for your area. If it's s popular area they will sell out.

Nothings sold out. Application deadline is May 31st. Draw results available June 22nd. Looks like they are changing the way leftover licenses are purchased, going to be a second draw instead of first come first served.

You are correct, this is new for this year. That's what I get for going off memory and not reading all of the current literature.
Upon reading, it looks that during the application time frame they are taking input on wether to implement the second choice draw or leave it the same (a bit late in my book, should of had a public input committee meeting way befor the application process). But they do state that the limited quota second draw may be in had to gain access (private)hunting areas and be sure to obtain permission for these areas.
There is a reduced fee (doe/fawn) remaining quota tab that will tell you how many tags are left for a particular area and for which specie. You'll need to get on it as soon as that list is published as they do sell out in certain areas. Also the lust will change if there is a freak die off.
                            Happy hunting
