Repainting decoys?

I don't do waterfowl much anymore, but a couple buddies big into geese have gone to flocking the heads. Really sharp and makes any reflection "natural".

Back when i could hunt as much as i would like my approach was to wash them and touch up the white parts with kilz.
A drake can has a place in any puddler set. (imo)

Agreed, just scrubbing them up with Simple Green made them pop.

I never bothered repainting. I figure ducks do not have that good of vision.

Ducks have great vision and they see in color.

They aren't smart like some guys think. They are like trout -finely tuned threat assessment mechanisms. They don't need to know what they are are seeing, only that it is different from what they are used to seeing (unless they are used to seeing a lot of obvious dekes).

who among us does'nt have decoys with little dabs of silicone on them & some of them "rattle"?
