Believe it or not, my friend who shot it with my AR was aiming for the heart/lung of the boar. When we started to clean the animal, we found that the bullet wound was actually behind his left ear( which pretty much shattered his spine ) cause he dropped right where he was shot. He bled out through his mouth, lots of blood but good eating though.

Finally got something worth bragging about. My first time fly fishing on the last day of my fishing license. Caught a 30 inch 10 lb wild rainbow behind the in-laws cabin last week in southern Oregon. Probably one of the best trophy rainbow rivers in the US. One of the best adrenaline rushes I've ever had

I already shamelessly bragged about this guy in May of 2009 when I bagged him, but I just got him back from the taxi this week.

320# (estimated), Paso Robles area, 300 RCM, Hornady 150-grain GMX, 200 yards, 1 step and DRT.

Can't wait for a chance to go get another (though I doubt I'll take another trophy).

Edited: I forgot to mention that I chose to keep his real teeth (many taxis like to change them with fiberglass ones). They're shopworn, but they give him some character, IMO.

Other than being illegal, that's pretty interesting.

So I finally get to post in here!!!

Went on a hunt with BigBoarstopper, much thanks to him for setting up a great experience and helping me with my dog and introducing me to a bunch of great guys.

We ended up with a 200lbish sow, my dog got into it and we both had a great time.

So heres the requested story, im not a good minstrel so bear with me.

I go last minute call for shay saying I could tag along, I wish I knew this the night before as it was beer night at the dog back and I got smashed. So I had to back up and track down all my stuff in hangover mode, get some food in me and get on the road. Myself and my friend (who actually took the hog) met up with shay later that day, shay gave us some great pointers about our dogs introduce us to alot of the local dog guys and was just a generally great all around guy.

So this other gentlemen we were introduced to (who I didnt contact about posting online so ill leave his name out of it) had access to a vineyard where the pigs were tearing stuff up, so we got to have a great time and do a good deed. This was the first time a saw a wild hog on the run, and I got run over let me tell you these things are fast and strong. We saw a couple hogs that night and all Ive been thinking about since then is going out again.
