    You would have loved my last trip to Texas this week - I killed 10 nice hogs - one of which had clearly been in a tussle with some dogs - a nice 250lb boar. My buddy and I got on them with the AR's out in the middle of a semi-dry lake bed - they were about 400-500 yards to the shore where they could get cover - and we had 25 and 30 round mags (i was shooting a 6.8, so 25 for me). We got to about 250 yards and then lit them up. F-U-N!!!!
    The 2 of us shot 10 pigs in 2 hours, then we got a few more the next day and a couple more on the last day. I was in hog heaven.
    The guide that works for us out there is a Dog-Hog guy and was pretty happy to see that big dead boar in the middle of the lake.

    I'm hoping that we'll be able to get out next month and take the night vision scopes out and really get on them. My buddy that lives there is talking about maybe getting a silencer too...winning combination. I LOVE TEXAS, why can't California follow their excellent example.

    im not a hunter so i just dont know. i only use my weapons for shooting paper and protection. but then again, i live in los angeles
    The bear we got was eaten and the skin was taken as the trophey - and is now a rug. Bear actually tastes very good. At least the one I've eaten did. I think that it probably depends on what their diet is made up of as well - I've heard that northern coastal bears that eat a lot of fish taste nasty. The one I ate was an inland bear.

    A lot of people after a couple of trips to Africa do that but this was my first trip so I had all the big horns done as european mounts (horns and skulls on plaques) along with the tusks of the warthog, I had the zebra skin turned into a felt backed rug and I had a shoulder mount done of this Steenbok.

    My Steenbok from last year also:

    Here's the hole that a 375 H&H Mag leaves at 100 yards;
