I was unable to get out on opening day for deer season but I made it Monday. Unfortunately, the deer are mostly nocturnal now that gun season has opened. I saw no deer until a big wet storm came and even then, the one I'm looking for was not to be seen. I'll be back...
Checking game cameras revealed lots of bear activity and for some reason, they like to rearrange my cameras. I also changed batteries in a couple and forgot to reset date and time...which really sucks when you're trying to pattern deer.
I camped about 1/2 mi from the truck and hunted a couple miles in from camp. According to gps I did around 14 miles with 3600 feet of elevation climb, base elevation there is 6500. I would head out at 5am and come in for lunch and a quick nap then head back out until after shoot time.
these aren't in order and I can only post a few
