    Haul Road (Alaska) Photos

    From my buddy in Alaska:

This is what Alaskans do for fun (chasing grizzly with bow and arrow!). Our hunting partner posted this on youtube. This is the Haul Road going north from Fairbanks to Prudhoe. True, pristine wilderness. Bow hunting only (5 mile corridor). If you look carefully, you will see my wife and I in some pictures.

We made it back out alive and left all the caribou on the East Side of the Sag. Saw another herd of 30 to the east and two miles down from camp but they did not want to cross. After waiting for four hrs, it started snowing and we left. I got word that two days and three feet of snow later, about 1500 crossed right in our camp. Guess they needed a cold snap to get moving. There's always next year!

Pics are in a slideshow format on youtube so just copy and paste the address in your browser window, put it on full screen, and enjoy. Let me know if there are any difficulties.

Awesome!!! Best land purchase in the history of the world.

I had the same problem on my hunt a few weeks ago, too warm and just couldn't get close enough. My buddy just took a trophy bull in the same area we were hunting now that the snow fell. Same deal, better luck next year. Maybe one day our paths will cross up there and I can buy you a beer.

Sounds good. I'll be in King Salmon in August 2016.
