Not sure about that unit, but will say I love the Rino's. Been using mine for a couple years and like all the features.

Rino 610 and 650 here, both are great no issues. Been using for three years or more , I've lost track as I am getting old and forget things, but with the rino I at least don't have to remember my way home.

What are you hoping to use it for and get out of it? I found an app for smartphones that allows you to use gps location on maps with multiple base maps available: satellite imagery, topo maps, road maps, combination base maps, land owners, property boundaries, state and federal property boundaries (blm, nf, wildlife areas, etc.).

Since the maps are downloadable you don't need cell reception to use the maps. For me I decided that was better than using a standard gps, since i'd have my phone with me anyways.
If you are wondering if you can get a LTC in Riverside County: THE ANSWER IS YES!

FWIW I have a Garmin Rhino 650 after having a 110 for about 10-15 years. I like being able to radio, text, and see where others in my party (who have Rhino's) are.

OnX hunt. The app is free and it has some base maps. For a year subscription you get premium maps, private property boundaries, and you can mark up the map.

I use an older model, the GPSMAP 60Cx, on my dirt bike and would totally recommend it. Its tough and signal lock is excellent. Garmin makes an excellent consumer grade GPS.

Just picked up a Garmin Alpha. Lets me track my dog and even add my buddy's hounds so we can setup on opposite ridges and both track all the dogs as they work a trail. The GPS unit is great. I added Onx Hunt Maps to it the other day.

I purchased the Garmin GPSMAP 64s bundle, it arrived yesterday and I'll get out and loaded up this weekend. Thanks for your input.

In looking at the Garmin map site it appears that the maps are limited for the West Coast. My bundle also includes the Garmin Birds Eye Satellite View feature for one year free...

If you google or maybe someone will know here; there are apparently a slew of free maps that rival or are in some cases better than the ones you can buy via Garmin. I have an Xmaps chip and I can't recall the website I have saved where I have found a crapton of other maps which may be higher in detail, etc.

It takes a little bit of tech savy but it's a neat feature to add those.

Indeed there are, although I completely forget where to find them! But there is definitely a website where you can download TONS of basemaps and overlays for garmin units. I'll see if I can find it in my bookmarks and get back to you.
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

                              Found it:

That's a link to the trail maps overlay I loaded into my GPS, but the main website (gpsfiledepot.com) has a ton more maps to download free.
