Hunting out of seasons, please explain...

Will someone please explain to me how hunting out of season works?is it true that people can hunt outside of normal hunting seasons?
I've heard that there are different seasons or rules for private land?
Like some hunting clubs can hunt ducks and pheasants even when the regular hunting season is over?
    Is this true?
    How does it work?

I've tried to find info about this online but I didn't have any luck...

Yes it's true...however they aren't "wild" game. They are domestic animals cultivated purely for hunting. In essence you are just shooting a farm animal. I have hunted many clubs and they are fun. While some on here will mock it....it can be very challenging and should help translate to wild hunting.

Some states provide a season for hunting clubs like this to follow and some just allow them to shoot whatever whenever as long as they are licensed and raising their own. No different than raising chickens or cattle for slaughter.

Most clubs will not do duck shoots during off season. I have seen some throw and shoot duck hunts that clubs will do with raised birds but never outside of the season.

My old neighbors in Oregon run a hunting business, Treo Ranches. They buy birds, plant them in the morning, lead hunts during the day.

During pheasant season we would sit at the fence line and get our limit from the ones that got away. We also hunted coyotes on their land. Farm raised pheasants are like easter egg hunting for coyotes.

the club i "shoot" on closes in march.
when we take birds home they have a tag on them showing they came from a licensed club.
the birds are genetically "wild" birds and there is a big difference between growers that raise birds in flying pens and to what degree the birds spend time where they can fly.
they are typically one year old and not a cagey old wild rooster by any means.
i say "shoot" because no, i don't consider it hunting myself.
it's all about the dogs. it's the difference between hunting with a dog that flushed a couple of wild roosters last year and one that's had dozens in his mouth a few months ago.
it also doesn't hurt that they "believe" that they can catch them because they have at the club.

There are also PLM rules that give private landowners tags they can sell. Tags for just about all game animals and the seasons are greatly extended.

Deer season in B zone for a PLM holder goes from the first day of archery season (but they can use guns) till the last day of November.

Hunting pen raised birds is like banging a hooker. Is it true love, no, but it's still a great way to spend an afternoon

The other way is some states offer a super raffle (a lottery)for revenue generation to that department. These super raffle winners can hunt the won specie anytime through out the year.
We'll just give them the 'ol number 6.

you can not hunt wild animals outside of the set seasons for the area you are in. Each state sets its own seasons and bag limits. For animals like waterfowl they use a guide line that all the states more or less adhere to. For big game each state has biologists that set the harvest each year.

                  hope that helps.
