I was camping over the weekend with the family out at Lake Cahuilla outside of Indio CA. When heading out to the store I ran across these 2 beauties. If only they were outside the lake property.

If they were outside the lake property I would have done the same thing take a picture or 2 as you are correct for the area. They are protected. It is just a rare sight in this area. I just thought most of you would enjoy a few pics.

Sadly there are people that stupid who post on this board. I recall in the past year alone some guy was out doing something and came across some tule elk and came back and commented about trying to shoot one if given a shot opportunity the next time. It was like he was completely oblivious and he had a hunting license.

You can't fix stupid and it's on level 10 here in CA. How many idiots roll into the check stations every year at Wildlife refuges with swans, herons, eagles, etc. thinking it's legal.
