I've been itching to use this toy of mine. ATN ThOr Thermal Imaging Scope atop a 6.8 SPC AR15.

That has to be incredibly awkward to look through with the eye cup in that position?

Just looks real low and far forward to engage the eye cup. Whenever I used the AN/PAS-13 we would mount them a little further back and they were on a higher riser. I guess not if it works for you. Those things are pretty damn cool. Looks like a fun set up.

That last boar was one big tuff SOB.....spewing blood everywhere and still running......that hog was a dog killer.......120gr SST should have worked any of the 4 previous shots. The one on the left that was anchored was the vmax..
When more than one shooter an anchored animal is the norm for the second and third shots........you jump they jump sometimes your lucky to just hit something......Here in Cali I wait till one gives that last look back before going over the hill

            Looks like fun to me......
One life so don't blow it......Always die with your boots on!

It looks like the cheekweld is on the charging handle, that might what Standish sees.

^ Yep. Not a big deal if that's what he likes and works for him. I am not one to say one thing is right. I just had always been taught to keep a consistent cheek weld by placing the tip of your nose on the charging handle. That creates an aggressive forward position that is consistent.

but, I know Nick is experienced. If he likes it that way, cool beans!

It's a multi-purpose rifle. That scope has a quick release. There is no way to mount it further back without a riser or by removing the MBUS sights. It's not as awkward as it may look.
