Would that be long distance help from Virginia? . What a guy!
My friend still has a fab shop at Sears Point.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

looking great let me know if you need anything I own a full fab shop and willing to lend a hand.

I dunno, I've never been much for guns. I mean, sure, we have the usual gun by the door, another near the TV, one in the kitchen, and another in the bedroom...and several others laying around. For the most part though, we keep our home free of guns. We are peace loving folks.

Ivanimal, Some random thoughts for your project.

        1. If you can sandblast on your property. A Harbor Freight sandblaster may save you money. If not just enjoy the zen of a wire wheel being careful not to overheat the metal.

        2. A shorter hitch bar will handle weight distribution better which improves over all handling.

        3. With a short hitch bar like on a military jeep trailer. Trash your usual trailer backing style. Rock the steering wheel left-right as you back up and the trailer goes straight. I don't know why but it does.

        4. Your trailer looks like it will handle 2-3K pounds easily so please use triangulation on your hitch bar and consider some reinforcing at the mating points. No bueno when the draw bar breaks off on the highway.

I pull an M416 with my JKU. Trailers are handy as heck for a jeeper.

        Have fun!

I get to delete a lot of negativity on this board. A thread as innocuous as this gets replies that are just demeaning. I tire of the perceived superiority of the people that would have you scrap an idea if its not theirs. I will keep this going and just delete the bombs.
Please. Folks like me learn a lot from these innocuous little threads.

^^^ with the passing of time, a trailer like this only goes skyward in value. nevertheless, i see a labor of love here and that in part is what makes this project a special one.

For 800 bucks OTD i bought one of these M1101 trailers from uncle Sam:

Not my trailer or jeep but i have the exact same trailer- Its made almost entirely out of Aluminum, even the frame. Comes with monster 37" run flats which you'll hafta swap to get it lower. The government paid $9,600 for them, mine's literally like brand new, not a scratch on it when i picked it up. Its heavy at 1400 lbs empty but it has a 4200 GVW so you can put (literally) tons of stuff in it... Tows very nicely
