    Travelchair Slacker Chair

Sitting on the ground or a rock is for losers

    Travelchair Slacker Chair, Black

Looking to order a small and compact camping chair. It has gotten good reviews, but curious if there are other options I should consider.

I like the Therma rest chair kit. You use the sleeping pad for the cushin, and it has a back that you can lean against and strech your lergs out. They are amazingly cozy when you're dog tired. They don't weight much and can be stowed seveal different ways. I like to keep mine vertical in the main compartment, spread out along with the pad, and fill the rest of the gear inside surrounded by them. Suck all the air out, then release the valve when the bags loaded. Then you can sinch the bag withour crushing anything and it stays ridgid. PAX

I use one just like that. Probably some cheapo from Walmart that I have had for years but it works great. Puts you in a better position for fishing than the sling back camp chairs and is smaller to pack

Those work fine but I backpack and at the end of a 10 mile day with a 50lb pack, I need back support. Also for backpacking, as you know, every ounce counts. After careful research, I ended up with the Helinox Ground Chair. 1lb, 4oz. Amazon has them but $109.99 is too much. I shopped and found it for $87.00 w free shipping. Yes, expensive, but well worth it for an upcoming trip I have that will cover over 100 miles.

I had considered something that had a back and cutting weight wherever you can is definitely a plus. I might have to look into the Helinox for myself, I have that travelchair and it services it's purpose. If my back hurt enough to need a back rest, I normally just go lay down.

I have never seen these. Expensive but I really like them.
                Thanks Capy.

No offense, but maybe if you weren't packing 50lbs, you wouldn't need a chair with a back. What the heck do you have that adds up to so much weight? I just redid my gear and have dropped from 35 to 22 lbs for 4 days of packing.

                      Mark,
You realize Capy said his upcoming trek was 100 miles? You did quote it in your reply.

If I had to walk that far I would spend 3x that for a decent chair.
Disclosure: I would not attempt the trip unless DRIVING the support vehicle, Capy is insane

So I got the travelchair recently from amazon. It does have a little weight to it, not sure if I would want to go backpacking with it, but it is a good deal for the price. It is a little uncomfortable in terms of your package by the way it makes you sit, but I think I'll get used to it.
