ATV or dune buggies for ride close to bay area

Are there ATV or dune buggies for rent and a place to ride close to Bay Area? I know there are places in Nevada close to South Lake Tahoe. I wonder if there is anything closer.

Closest I can think of would be Pismo.

BJ's Rental at Pismo is the closest that I can think of.

Thanks. It looks like 3 hours drive from me. I found two rental places there on the web.

ATV or dune buggies for ride close to bay area

Last time I went to Pismo, some people in our camp rented a buggy, the biggest POS! We had to follow them aound and spent most of the rent time pulling them out of bowls or crest due to lack of power to gain any speed. If you get one make sure it's got some power or spend the $ for a good upgraded one, or stay in the flats.

It is good to know. We once had similar experiences with snowmobiles in deep snow.

Thank you for the feadback. One more question left. Is Pismo beach dog friendly? I know many places require to keep a dog on a leash.

                  Yep totally.

Get a manual 400, the 250s suck and the 400 really isn't that scary to ride - I've never ridden a motorbike or anything remotely similar to one before and I picked it up in a few tries.
