New to HAM radio...

I want to get my HAM radio license. I live ~15 mi north of Sacramento. What's the best way to get my license? A HAM Cram class? Or self study? If class is best, where can I get the class?

Ham cram class. I took mine in Stanislaus County and a day well spent. Ill go to the next one to upgrade to general. I can post when the next one is when I get back to work Monday.

You can do it yourself easy enough to just pass the test, but it is a good idea to actually learn about what your memorizing. Scroll through these test questions for 15 minutes a day: http://hamexam.org/flash_cards/9-Technician
When you realize you know most of the answers, take a few practice tests here: http://www.eham.net/exams/
When your consistantly getting apassing grade, your good to go.

Darklyte27 - I don't know what a "sticky" is but I will look at your link. I didn't want to post on your other HAM thread b/c I didn't think my question/situation fit it very well. Once I get my license I'll post on it.

A sticky is like a post it note thats kept up at the top for this very reason.
